There are many opportunities for everyone to use the talents that God has given them to serve the church and the community: Listed below is a sampling of many of the ongoing opportunities:
Service to the Community:
- Plates of Appreciation: Each month people from the church make treats to combine together onto plates to be passed out to people engaged in important service in the community: teachers, fire departments, police, nursing homes, etc. It is just a small way to express our gratitude and the love of God in a practical way.
- Tutoring: During the school year the church offers a tutoring program for students in need every Monday beginning at 5:45. Participants receive help from knowledgeable volunteers, many of which are active or retired educators. There is also a light snack included.
- Meals on Wheels: several people from the church are involved in delivering meals to people in need within the community.
- Boy Scouts: The church hosts a boy scout troop on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm.
Service to the Church:
- Opportunities are available for people to teach Sunday School classes, read Scripture for the worship services, provide special music, run media and sound equipment, do community visitation, take part in brainstorming and implementation of programs through a variety of committees, provide lawn care, etc.
- The church choir meets on Tuesday evenings at 4:00 pm to practice music for services and special events.
- There are a variety of regularly sheduled programs like Joy Zone as well as occasional programs like Vacation Bible School that utilize a great number of volunteers.
