Children

We offer a number of programs targeted toward the needs of children. Listed below are the programs that meet on a regular weekly basis:

Sunday School Classes: At 10:00 AM on Sunday mornings classes meet for all age groups including a nursery. These classes study and discuss the Bible together in a way suitable to their level of development and interests.

Children's Church: Young children are given the opportunity midway through the Sunday worship service to go to a time created to grow them in a way more targeted to their age level.

Joy Zone: (4:00pm - 5:30 pm three Sunday's a month) - An evening of fun learning for children ages 3 years to 5th grade. JoyZone is a compact vacation Bible school style program where children have stories, lessons, snacks, games, music, and crafts -all in an hour and a half meeting time. Each night's activities center around a central theme and Bible story.

Tutoring: During the school year, the church offers free tutoring for all grade levels on Monday nights starting at 5:45. This program will begin on September 10 for this year (2012). Many of our volunteers are active or retired educators with years of classroom experience.

There are also special activities for children that do not meet on a regularly scheduled basis such as Vacation Bible School and other seasonal activities. We are a Safe Sanctuaries church - meaning that we place great emphasis on being a safe place for children to learn about and experience God's presence and love. All volunteers who have oversight of children are required to submit to nation-wide backgrounds checks and work under the Safe Sanctuaries guidelines.
